In the heart of Carmel, there is a special, romantic table in this most romantic town. Table 11 at the Casanova Restaurant is a gem. The restaurant itself has been voted “the most romantic restaurant” in Carmel by local residents every year since 2008. Table 11 sits in a small, warmly lit alcove in the middle of the restaurant, offering you and your dining partner both privacy and intimacy. You’ll have lovely view of statues outside of the window next to your table. We love the ambience at Casanova – wood floors, home furnishings, lovely linens. Casanova is a converted home made to resemble the restaurant owner’s family’s old farm-house in Belgium. From the moment you approach the restaurant and see it’s architecture, courtyard and design elements, you’ll have the feeling of stumbling upon a quaint European inn. The food at Casanova is spectacular, some of the best dining to be had in Carmel. Their pastas are handmade and delicious, especially the ravioli with porcini mushrooms, chicken, raisins, ricotta cheese, and verdure. For entrees, we were very impressed by the rack of lamb with squash and peppers. The wine selection at Casanova is incredible. Pick from over 2,000 choices from the 16,000 bottles they keep in their wine cellar! The Casanova wine program has been recognized by the James Beard awards as one of the best in the country. Table 11 – the most romantic table, in the most romantic restaurant, in the most romantic town in Northern California.
