Here at MostRomanticTable.com, we are generally effusive about the tables on our site. Table 5 at The Soule Domain in North Lake Tahoe presents a quandary for us. Table 5 is great. It’s tucked into a quiet corner of the small restaurant, next to a window. And, let’s face it, Soule Domain is one of the best restaurants in North Lake Tahoe. For more than a decade, locals have voted Soule Domain “Best Place to Take a Date.” The restaurant is charming, housed in a log cabin near the Nevada border, with a creative and exemplary menu. On any given night, you may dine on Costa Rican Mahi Mahi grilled with coconut milk curry, ginger, jalapéno, blood oranges, mint and sesame seeds, or Rack of New Zealand Lamb Chops, grilled with roasted garlic, almond, basil pesto butter and parmesan. However, on the night we visited, despite having reserved Table 5, arriving on time, and confirming the reservation, the staff gave our table away! They then tried to pass us on to a series of other less romantic tables, but, we declined. If we’re going to spend more than $150 on a dinner, we want the Most Romantic Table. So if you choose to reserve Table 5 at Soule Domain, exercise caution and be insistent on that number.
