Romantic tables, alas, tend to be found at higher end restaurants. Table 6 at Sam’s Anchor Cafe is an affordable and unexpected pleasure, offering uninterrupted views of San Francisco and the Bay. You can see a preview of Sam’s expansive deck from their live webcam. Table 6 is in the far right corner, overlooking the marina.
For a quintessential San Francisco experience sail to Sam’s, dock as their guest, then spend the afternoon on their sunny deck. Sam’s Fish & Chips may be an untraditional brunch, but it’s their most famous dish. If you don’t run with the boat-owning set, a Blue & Gold ferry or the Tideline Water Taxi service from Fort Mason will get you there. Sam’s has a no reservations policy, so getting Table 6 can be a challenge. Be prepared to wait, or consider contacting Sam’s friendly owner Brian Wilson directly to see if he can help you, especially if you’re planning a special moment.
